Zina Nicole Lahr a great artist, puppeteer, designer and maker of different creative projects. She is an self-diagnosed Compulsive Creative Disorder[CCD]. Creativity emerges in everyone from the child hood, but for some one this level of creativity and energy to create anything art from daily object from surroundings and even trashed items – we thought useless. Talented girl, which we don’t know about her, until we saw her documentary done by her friend Stromy Pyeatte. Let’s see some words from her friend on her Vimeo page.

In August 2013 her friend Zina asked if I could shoot a video for her portfolio. She needed something that would showcase her work but also tell a little bit about her personality and her interests. We had two days to shoot and edit so we shot an interview and smashed something together to meet our deadline. On November 20, 2013 Zina passed away due to a hiking accident in Ouray, CO. After the funeral I revisited the footage and made this short as an attempt to capture her personality and creativity. I never planned to release it online but now I have a chance to share her and her creations with all of you! For all who are part of the Zina Lahr love bomb, this is for you!

WOW! The response to this video is incredible and completely unexpected! Cindy (Zina’s mother), her family, and I are so blown away by all of this and I want to thank everyone who is taking the time to celebrate the life of her precious friend.
I have received an incredible amount of emails from people who are wishing to donate to the Zina Lahr Memorial Fund. So if you wish to help the family of Zina Lahr you can call the Citizen’s State Bank of Ouray Colorado at (970) 325-4352. You can also donate to the Weehawken Creative Arts Zina Lahr Memorial Scholarship. All the money for this scholarship helps kids pay for art classes in the within Weehawken Creative Arts program located on the western slope of Colorado. Zina did an incredible amount of volunteer work for this wonderful non profit.
From props to set pieces Zina was the magic behind it! More info here! link: weehawkenarts.org/uncategorized/honoring-zina-lahr/

From Reddit Page:
Zina is one of her best friends and we dated off and on for the last couple years. I was searching for her all night on the day she went missing and it was a friend of mine who responded to her call for search party who found her the next morning. There’s a lot of speculation here on how she died and I will say since she died alone there’s of course going to be some mystery. The investigation ruled out suicide and foul play and determined the fall was accidental. Any number of possibilities are likely from a rock fall from above, to fainting and falling off a small cliff, to slipping on dirt, etc. What I know is that Zina was the least clinically depressed person I’d ever met… Full of life, love, creativity, kindness, and purity. She never even tried drugs or alcohol and I never witnessed any negative or addictive behavior from her. She had lost a significant amount of weight during her year in CA because she had stopped eating meat, dairy, and gluten. This was a new diet that she was working out and at the time of her death she had gained back some of the weight she had lost. We may never know exactly how Zina died but I assure you that the story of her life will never be her weight problem. Zina is a gift to me and this world.
