25 Handmade Creatures into Scratchboard Art using Knife Tool

Today’s daily design inspiration is about “Scratchboard Art” which use to be engraved in woods and other materials during 19th century. As the modern design and art had changed the materials the artist created in other medium form. This scratchboard art contain creative and made from imagination of Steven Noble a Worldwide renowned illustrator.

The Scratchboard techniques are Using a sharp angled blade or scratch tools an outline is made on the surface of scraperboard with watercolors, airbrush, ink, color pencil or acrylics for layering and then modern artist sometimes use Adobe Softwares like Photoshop or illustrator and CorelDraw to color them.

About the Artist:
Steven Noble had created more than 1000’s of art in his site and Since graduating from the University of California, Davis in 1990, Steven Noble has mastered a wide range of detail and style within the scratch-board medium and has become internationally recognized for his work from clients as far way as Japan to Europe. Over the course of his career, he has created many nationally recognized logos and ad campaigns for a large list of prestigious and high caliber clients such as Coors (corporate/packaging logo), Exxon-Mobil (stock certificate), JP Morgan (annual report) and Mercedes-Benz (ad campaigns). A lot of his expertise encompasses a large volume of subject matter that include food arts, portraits in scratchboard, animals, maps, scratchboard architecture, and corporate conceptual images.
